Satoshi Yabuuchi is a leading Japanese sculptor, known for his sculpture "Sento-kun". He has been deeply involved in the study of Buddhist statues, including restoration and reconstruction, and has contributed to the art world with his advanced skills and knowledge, including recent dedications of Buddhist statues to Toshodaiji Temple and Saidaiji Temple. After retiring from the post of Professor of the Graduate School of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, he became the Director of the Nara Prefectural Museum of Art. He has been contributing to the art world with his advanced skills and knowledge, such as by making Buddhist sculptures. The exhibition will feature more than 50 works, including wood sculptures carved from Kiso hinoki cypress using the traditional yosegi-zukuri technique of Buddhist statue making, coated with lacquer, and colored with Japanese painting pigments, as well as bronzes created using the same technique as his works installed throughout Japan under the title "Art for the Public.
